Verdant Village Hotfix 0.18.1
Another weekend hotfix which seems to have become routine at this point. This time we had some issues with quests as many are probably aware. I’ll explain as best I can without getting into overwhelming detail.
So, the issue stemmed from a single line of code in the patching system. The reason that various quests completed themselves, like staircases being fixed, rocks disappearing, caves opening, etc, is because the game had a line of code that was passed the wrong parameter, in this case a 0. That 0 basically made it so that when the game patched it checked every quest status in the game against the bag quest for Lylah. Assuming you had done that quest, the game would have given you rewards for every other quest in the game.
In this hotfix I’ve managed to fix this issue and your quest data should still be saved. There is a slight downside to this however, which some of you may not really see as a downside. I can’t undo the cooking recipes that were doled out via the completed quests. Everything else should reset, but those rewards will stick. You can still complete their related quests and there shouldn’t be an issue, you just already have the reward. Not a perfect solution, but I’m guessing most people would rather have this instead of getting a hard reset on quest progress.
Aside from this there was an issue with the three new quests that got added where the game would essentially take your resources and then tell you that you couldn’t finish the quest because your inventory was full. This came down to a parameter being passed as a string instead of an integer, but should now be fixed. At least it was via my testing.
Last thing, NPC patching has been turned off again so expect NPCs to be standing around at midnight on the first day post patch. This is to fix the problem with Ethan being non interactive. Turning off NPC patching may become the norm each time a new NPC is added, but I’ll have to see if I can find a way around it. The other stuff is smaller and listed below in the change log.
Also as a final aside, there is now a 32 and 64 bit version of the game on itch for windows users. If you’ve been playing up till now stick with the 64 bit version. The 32 bit version is just there for anyone who doesn’t have a 64 bit OS. I’ve put the 32 bit version at the end of the list to hopefully avoid confusion.

Ups... The repair quests data was not saved, so stairs, bridges and so on need new repairs. Not a big problem, BUT my forge also need repair, and Sven and the carpenter dont give me any quests to repair it. Dont remember how it was fixed the first time... Dont get a quest by clicking it.
So all the things like stairs, bridges, and your forge are broken again, but there are no signs in front of them to trigger the repair quest?
The bridge in swamp and the one on the beach gives quest.
The stuff that are broken now and dont give any quest i can click or find on npc is:
- Forge
- Stairs
- Bacement/Cellar
Forge got a sign infront of it, but i cant click it.
Tryed clicking all ower the place.
A couple of things. First, I just want to be sure before I go delving into this. You are trying to interact with the sign and not the actual forge right? Because only talking to the sign will start the quest.
Next you say the bridge and the swamp and the one on the beach give quests. Had you completed those in the past?
And last so, does everything have a sign in front of it regardless of being repaired. Or is it just broken things that have signs?
1. I have tryed clicking on the sign at the forge yes. To check that it was the sign that should activate the quest i started a new account and it worked there. Placement when i took image is not importent. I have tryed to click all ower the place :)
2. Yes i had completed both the Swamp and the Beach quest.
3. Not sure what you are refering to. Since its all broken now. I did turn in the beach/swamp again to check if that could trigger new quest for forge and the others, but didnt see any change - so i logged before it was saved.
I will do it again and run and check if it actually fix it. Will report back in a few.
I tryed it again. After completing the beach &swamp quest - both bridges got fixed and the signs was gone.
Basement/cellar is gone - but no sign there, and cant find any quest to get it back.
Stairs dont have any sign - and cant find anyone that want to give me quest to fix it.
Forge repair quest should activate with clicking the sign - but nothing happens when clicking it.
Let me know if you want me to test anything else. But seems to me you got 2 problems - forge quest activation - and that questline is mezzed up now so we dont get the quest for basement. and probally other quests to.
